WasteWise has evolved through successive phases of development, bringing together software engineers, solution architects, full-stack developers, geospatial developers, user experience (UX) designers, interface designers and digital innovation specialists. Across phases, development partners have contributed specialized expertise that has strengthened the platform’s architecture, functionality, analytical capabilities and user experience while building on the achievements of earlier development teams.

Pixelrun leads the development of the current generation of the WasteWise platform, focusing on software engineering, platform architecture, backend systems, frontend development and long-term platform scalability.

Pier Giorgio Provenzano is the founder of Pixelrun UK Ltd, and manages the production of WasteWise "Phase 2" and its supporting website. He was also the Head of Development for WasteWise "Phase 1" as a partner of Umwelt Llp.

Arialdo Martini

Lead Software Developer | Pixelrun UK Ltd

Arialdo has lead the development team at Umwelt for WasteWise "Phase 1" and currently leads the development of "Phase 2" with Pixelrun. Back End developer, Solutions Architect and Team Leader, with a strong background on back end development. Skilled in Software Architecture, C#, SOA, MicroServices, TDD, Git, Continuous Integration, Agile and DevOps, with a BS focused in Electronic Engineering from Università degli Studi di Firenze.

Youssef Yousfi

Software Engineer | Pixelrun UK Ltd

Youssef has developed the front-end of WasteWise "Phase 1" for Umwelt and currently keeps on working on "Phase 2" with Pixelrun. He has a growing brilliant portfolio as a software engineer and game developer.

Umwelt Design LLP led the user experience, information architecture and interface design of the first-generation WasteWise platform, establishing the visual identity and interaction design that inform subsequent releases.

Alberto has been Project Coordinator & Information Architect of WasteWise "Phase 1" as a founding partner of Umwelt Llp. He since has moved on to pursue his career as an agrifood systems designer.

Chhavi has been the researcher & UI Designer of WasteWise "Phase 1" for Umwelt Llp. She has since moved on to focus on her career as a Food System Sustainability Consultant.

Sustainability Intelligence supported the development of the first operational prototype (Organic DSS), contributing expertise in GIS integration, software development and project management during the early phases of WasteWise.

Debanjan Bandyopadhyay

Along with other co-founders, we recently started Sustainability Intelligence (SI). SI works with the mission of transforming how sustainability decisions on complex and unpredictable domains like environment, biodiversity, social and climate change are made through fit-for-purpose, cloud-based technology solutions. In my other roles, as a senior sustainability professional with close to 3 decades of experience, I have been passionate on workstreams that lay at the intersection of sustainability advisory and digitalisation. I have led a range of independent environmental, biodiversity and social related assessments (ESIA’s due diligences, audits and monitoring) for complex projects. In addition, I have partnered with Clients to improve management systems and processes in their operational facilities, leading to better compliance as well as enhanced sustainability performance. As a part of these assignments, I have had the opportunity to work closely with financial institutions like the World Bank, IFC, ADB, European Commission, UNDP, KfW, DEG, JICA, CDC Group and others and have an in-depth understanding of lenders and financial institution standards focusing on ESG and sustainability. I have worked extensively in South Asia (India, Bhutan Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka & Maldives), the Asia-Pacific and other regions. My areas of research interest include decision and planning support systems that focus on sustainability, climate change, risk management and optimal use of resources.
